Diese ist wegen des Vorhandenseins bestimmter Bakterien nur sehr kurz haltbar. Ist die Milch pasteurisiert, wird sie mehrere Tage haltbar. Sterilisierte Milch ist noch l\u00e4nger haltbar, auch wenn sich der Geschmack dadurch ein klein wenig \u00e4ndert. Beim Pasteurisieren wird die Milch kurz auf ein wenig \u00fcber 70\u00a0\u00b0C erhitzt, beim Sterilisieren liegt die Temperatur h\u00f6her und dauert das Erhitzen l\u00e4nger.
