That’s a question we’re often asked, but the question should actually be: Why is all the other milk so cheap? It’s a rather complex issue but the prices that you currently pay for milk are not viable. Many farmers have financial problems because the milk price they receive from their regular dairy factory is structurally too low. That’s something we certainly don’t want at Holland Jersey, which is why we pay the farmers affiliated with us a fair price for the hard work they do and high quality milk they produce. Jersey milk also contains more fat, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Of course, these higher values also result in a higher milk price. Although mass means cash, it doesn’t work that way with us. We have a completely separate and entirely traceable milk stream from farm to shelf. This also creates additional costs. We hope you understand this.
